Death???
What happens after physical death? Is the death also an illusion, another concept? Or do you spin in death and birth circle until you got realized? Do you disappear?
Nobody wants to believe that he/she will vanish away... All the 'Spiritual' thing is hanging on this.
Wayne L. offers a helpful analogy to answer your question, IMO.
The next time that you look at a wave that is produced by an ocean or body of water, observe what happens to it when it no longer appears as a wave.
That is what happens to the appearance of you.
All appearances are made up of time (duration) and space (locality), the stuff of their temporal nature.
A wave appears to be born, and inevitably appears to die.
So do you.
When the appearance of a wave no longer appears in time and space, it dis-appears... as a wave.
But the waves, as Wayne reminds us, are the ocean.
Nonduality appearing as duality.
Or being appearing as becoming.
Looking for a purpose for the appearance and dis-appearance of waves (i.e. "do you spin in death and birth circle until you got realized?")... is to think like a wave. Which is a normal and not unexpected thing to do for a wave.
The ocean, on the other hand, does not possess any purpose for appearing as waves.
It would just be another wave if it had one.
For purpose is a characteristic of a wave. The ocean, on the other hand, is characteristic-less.
Thanks, amati, for an opinion. 'subfot' means nothing, I give no meaning for it at all...
Waiting for more opinions... :)
Hello subfot
Howde mate?
Can we also try one thing?
Do we hear sounds unexpectedly (without any prior thought of hearing them)?
In a day ….many times, say like a car honking its horn, doors closing, foot steps , bell ringing. Now the thing about it is….mmm… say you suddenly heard a shout/ sharp noise/ car door closing…whatever…. can you answer the following questions after hearing such sound unexpectedly:
1. When did the sound begin?
2. When did it end?
3. For how long was it?
Not even Buddha can. Or can we put it this way? only a Buddha cannot.
Regards
Ps hey, could you tell me what subfot means?
The "big bang" is still happening. How we are a part of it is necessary suffering. Otherwise, Nada.
Osho would say:
When Death is comming to fetch you, see that nobody is at home.
