Open Mic night on Never Not Here
In several of our latest dialogues I think we put our finger on something that has been my instinct since the start. Something about life begs for expression. We talked about Yoga, and that the asanas are only the alphabet. Not many people take that alphabet and create dance and poetry with it, but for some reason they are content to keep repeating the letters of the "first grade".
Self knowledge and growth are assured by full participation in "this practice" that we call daily life. Let go of restraint. Call me up and make your appearance on the Friendship series. Please don't wait to polish your expertise, or have something to say.

Permit me to suggest, Richard, that you add auditory-only interviews to your growing repertoire of interviews with friends.
I think that you will discover a different level of response, if you do.
Not to mention that many of us prefer to place our attention on another person's thoughts and observations without the addition of visual cues.
They (visual cues) tend to invite personalities into a discussion of thoughts and observations.
A desirable ingredient for some, but not for everyone.
Either way, thanks for the great work that you do.
It is true that what we do does not depend on images, and so everything on NNH, works as radio. In fact, all the latest "Friendships" are now up as Mp3's, (as of July 5th).
The other thing to do is turn up the volume and go about your business, which means listen without any attention on the visual image. It is up to you. Thanks.
I think that you may have missed my point.
I suggested that Richard also include strictly auditory interviews, minus any video. He'll get a different response level, I predict, if he does.
I'm aware that you can listen to the current interviews without viewing their video segments. I do that all the time.
My suggestion doesn't involve changing the status quo. It involves adding to it.
Being inclusive beats being exclusive, me thinks.
I would like to support Peter's suggestion, that we have video AND audio files when possible. I realise that converting video files to audio gives Richard a lot of extra work, but if the payoff is increased traffic it may be worth it. It's really Richard's call. Audio files are very helpful in my case because in my neck of the woods data is expensive, so downloading audio files is much more affordable than video. I sometimes would like to watch a particular video but my data cap can't be stretched too far. So it's a financial issue for me, and perhaps for others too. The 22 new files are much appreciated - thanks a lot, Richard!
