Some things became apparent when people started suggesting that negating is a way to find your “true self”.  I wouldn’t know about that.  I do know that negating is the preoccupation of billions of the world’s people, and for them it has only brought them the world as it is.  Anything that is life affirming, seems to be counter balanced with something horrid somewhere else in the world.  I should just say “juxtaposed” not to intend an actual balance with any equity.

Do we need a personal event to start to shift those gears?  Of course my first and most consistent action point is on myself.  I have values (or I don’t) and I can apply them to my actions where I now can.  I can also investigate them to see if they are truly life affirming, and change them accordingly.  Values and the conscious stopping of my negating is in my hands, but only if I want to define it as a worthwhile pursuit.

!!What other possible way can the world shift, except by you shifting yourself!!  I have never found one.

First let us acknowledge that most of our supposed values are borrowed, until we make conscious experiments to find values that are authentic to us.  Borrowed values might be a start, but they will not withstand the rigors of the voyage through life.

  1. Perhaps we have all lived in a less than ideal system, and excused ourselves with “everyone else is doing it.  I’ll be the only honest one, and economically it will be a disaster”.
  2. Or we have said that people mistreat me. I’ll be open to change but they must go first.
  3. Or we’ve attempted to hold to our values, but felt that nobody is catching the wave, (still wanting to transform the other).
  4. Or we have experimented with “drifting and watching”, thinking it is a greater view of the whole, and feels a relief.

For me finding and expressing authentic values is just plain fun.  At this point I am sure that a world of followers can only bring us the misery that is now self evident.  It is only a world of leaders that can make any changes.  Leader just means lead yourself.  There is no need to have any followers.

Richard, if man were able to

Richard, if man were able to lead himself, there would be no requirement or wish to lead yourself. Your post makes obvious once again what you too have admitted earlier: The aliveness of the moment can never be controlled by man. He only wishes to but never can. Otherwise he would stop wishing and would just do it. You can say that life happens the way you want it too, but you are the only judge to it.

  Hi Marcus, Are you

  Hi Marcus,

Are you observing and drifting with what is already happening in your life? Then you are the follower and you can expect more of the same. Do you have any values? Does your life express those values? How does that happen?

Are you selling magic then?

I am not wishing to live my values, I just do it.  I worte this for you, so that you could contimplate it yourself, and just do it.

Thanks

Hi Richard,Yes, I observe

Hi Richard,
Yes, I observe and move along with what is already happening in my life. I also observe that I observe what is happening in my life only after it happens and never can observe the exact moment when they would happen before they actually happen. Yes, I follow whatever happens in my life and expect more of the same too as this is the way life unfolds. It may be what my mind believes would or will happen according to its conditioning, or it may not be at all. I also observe that the mind only knows innumerable probabilities that could happen and numerous possibilities that could happen, but never knows with certainty what exactly would happen and the exact moment it would happen. I observe that the mind has values to whatever happens in life, and I also observe that the mind cannot control the values that should always happen. I observe and understand that my life expresses the values that are meant to be expressed, and I also observe the values expressed with certainty only after they are expressed and never before they are expressed. Life happens mysteriously and this is a natural phenomenon that happens to every human being. I am not selling magic; I am just sharing an observation and understanding of life and the mind. I also wrote to you that you are the judge of whatever happens to you in your life, and nobody can verify that life actually happens the way you want life to happen to you. Just as I am the judge of whatever happens in my life, and I admit that anything can happen in my life, and I cannot control what should or should not happen. I also admit that what actually does happen, I come to know about it with certainty only after it happens and never before.
I admit because I understand that man can neither control the moment nor the aliveness within a moment, and you have admitted that man cannot.
